Weekend stress

Posted by: fracas on December 13 @ 7:02 pm

I just got home from a hectic day in town. This morning I had an appointment for my bi-weekly facial at Nouvelle Cosmetique. The alarm went off at 09.50 am which was a tad too early. Especially since we had a prank call on our door bell at 3 in the morning. After a quick shower and getting ready I jumped on my bike. The cold hit me like a ton of bricks. I litteraly gasped for air, and since my jacket doesn’t close anymore (I still wear my normal size 36 jacket, albeit the one with most leeway) the cold was penetrating through the bone.

An hour and a half later it was time to peddle back. Next appointment was at 12.45 at Pierot for a haircut for Victoria and Reinout. I had scheduled a manicure to kill some time. With all of us washed and groomed to the nines, it was time to hit the trail for a Christmas tree. With that out of the way, Victoria and I left Reinout at home and once more were on our way for lunch. It was already past 4 pm when I had my first meal of the day. A bagle and carrot cake was gone in less than five! From there on we were dashing in and out of shops for weekend essentials.

Well at home I’m completely beat. I need a bath, a massage and a sleep - not necessarily in that order. But I’m afraid massage and sleep is out of the question. With guests coming over in half an hour I need to start preparing dinner.  In God’s name, who invented personal time? Because in my world it’s nothing but an illusion.
