Time management, a French Chateau and Twitter

Posted by: fracas on December 29 @ 4:46 pm

Who said the days between Christmas and New Year where lazy? Earlier this morning I got a call from my husband just checking in on how I was doing. “Fine”, I replied and with that we continued to chit chat about what the day had in store for both of us. My husband had a late meeting at 6.30 pm so we decided to meet up for a drink in between, at the winebar, sometime around 4 pm.

At ten to four, I realise I am nowhere near a decent state of presenting myself to the outside world. There is virtually no make-up on my face, and I’m sitting in my PJ’s, covered by a fisherman’s jumper (I raided my husbands wardrobe as there all my clothes were upstairs hanging to dry).

I resort to a quick email telling my husband I can’t make, to which he responds we could have a glass of wine at home instead. I fire off another reply, this time making a point (more so to myself than my husband) that I have a justifiable excuse: “Yeah I just wonder where the time fly. Quick calculation, 22 emails, laundry, feeding and entertaining Sebas, twittering (for onlinesalsa) and working on our email database later, it’s 10 to four and I still have to prepare a newsletter, send it out with a program I have still to learn, finalise the email db and edit a couple of articles. Hmmm…..will I make it before midnight?”

It’s already 16.30, and one blog post less to do today. But the action list is ever growing. I just wonder how do people cope? Is it me? Am I the most unorganised (twittering) twat, that can’t string two sentences together, without taking forever? My husband believes I am born in the wrong time. I don’t belong in Internet age (although I do twitter @fracasnoir).  And true enough, I would do anything (yes ANYTHING) to live my life in a French chateau full of books and antiques. But for that, I need to work, and thus Internet is my friend (for better or worse) for the next years to come.

And on that note, I have a good ebook on twitter (Twitter Success Blueprint by @sarahprout). If anyone would like a free copy, leave me a comment with your email (won’t be published!).

Twit, Twit for now!
