Soundbites, Conspiracy Theories & A New World Order
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace” – Jimi Hendrix
Frankly I don’t know how to start this post. Just that I have an overwhelming urge to write. Typically I’m far better in making myself understood through writing than orally. But for once, even my hands seem to be disabled to carry out my thoughts.
I just saw a very interesting movie, (documentary doesn’t seem to fit the bill), called Zeitgeist, a German expression literally translated: Zeit, time; Geist, spirit, meaning “the spirit of the age and its society”. At first I thought it was another diatribe about the New World Order, the Illuminati and the Bilderberg group. These movies circulate in abundance on the net, often consisting of a white 40-something male, outlining the conspiracy of a world government set out to delude the public at large. I‘ve seen a few of those, most of which have been rather tedious. The interest in conspiracy theories has been a natural evolution after exhaustively researching the Knights Templar, Prieure de Sion, the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons some 8 years back following my discovery of the book Holy Blood Holy Grail.
But Zeitgeist differs. Where other movies are making leaps and conclusions build on hypothesis that are equally obscure, Zeitgeist tells a story starting with the ancient Egyptians, building up a certain logic to explaining revolutions, 2 world wars, the war on terror and the reasons, aims and interests behind them. I don’t say it doesn’t leave holes that at least to me feels unexplainable, but it makes a decent attempt for the average viewer to grasp the understanding of what has become known as two concepts; “The New World Order” and “the World Government”. I am clearly not equipped to even attempt an analysis on a subject so hidden in obscurity and esoterica to the point that it has become a sort of anti-dogma among dogma. So instead, if this is a topic that (marginally) interest you, I advice you judge for yourself.
