Sleeping alone
Reinout left for the UK yesterday, and me behind. It’s the second time we’ve been away from each other which is two times too much. I’ve never had an issue being on my own, but the same rules don’t seem to apply any longer. So I made my husband promise always to take me with him wherever he goes. And he does, until yesterday. I dreaded the night alone. So I asked Victoria to join me in bed for a DVD and a game of Ne t’en fais pas (Pachisi).
After Victoria went to sleep, I was playing some games online to kill off some time and residue energy. But as I grew tired I put on the radio, Late Mix by Vmix, and drifted to sleep to the sounds of Air’s Alone in Kyoto.
I woke up at nine. A whole 8 hours of sleep did me wonders and as the water trickled from the shower, first slowly and later more intense as the water supply got freed up after the washing machine had used its share. It felt good as the water rinsed the moist, damp smell that had developed over night.
The day went by in a huff and at 7 pm the first sms’s started to drop in that my husband was on his way home. And just a moment ago, as I was writing this post, the door rattled and Reinout walked in. Tired, exhausted but by the look happy to be home. Needless to say the one most happy is ME!
So sweet
Just waking up
