Midnight music

I am back in my most personal and private of places – the boudoir. It’s my own little secret, where my thoughts can run riot, my olfactory sense is tickled with perfumes and scented candles, my taste buds are challenged with breakfasts, lunch and desserts. Such as now….with a cola ice lolly. Its cool iced slush is hitting my mouth, much welcomed by a dry throat.

I sit here aimlessly, having been sent up by my husband, because I’m of little use as company right now, having fallen asleep on the sofa whilst watching some Sin City copy-cat movie. But the moment the laptop is fired up, my fingers start flying over the keyword haphazardly making sentences to my equally randomly drifting mind. I listen to my favourite nocturnal music. Let me see…there’s Silent Poets with Moment Scale, Eighth Wave’s Panama Bazaar and Massive Attacks Weather Storm.

My memories are transported back to distant vacations, my times with Reinout at Juan les Pins, evenings on Gozo, close embraces and seductive slow dancing. A woman on a bar with only a few men watching her gracious movements. Echoing stilettos on silent streets. Dreams and reality are mixed in a crude cocktail as I wander to places I can do whatever pleases me… Oh yes, it’s that time of the night again…
