Men and movies
Why is it that men can’t be relied upon to find a good movie? Reinout had already selected a film for us to see, and it was no idea to protest, so I went along with it….Lost City Raiders. It was one of the worst movies I’ve seen since… well a few months back when Reinout came home with something with Steven Seagal in it. And before that some Dungeons and Dragons crap.
4.0 on imdb.com! I mean it doesn’t take a genius to understand that the film is an utter waste of space. The price (it’s cheap), the cover (it’s even cheaper), the actors (unheard of), makes the picture pretty clear. But OOHH NO. My husband believes we’re on to a winner. So I just wasted a good two hours of my life.

Working on becoming pretty

Hi Susanne,
I found your website by LinkedIn. I have to admit you have a nice website and your postings are interesting to read. You really are talented in writing.
Men have a different taste with regard to movies, so maybe it is better for you to join Reinout next time when he is renting a dvd. If you want to see a good movie I can recommend movies from Lars von Trier, like Doggville and Festen. I did not choose those movies myself, but (together with my girlfriend) I found out that these movies became a good alternative for Steven Seagal movies.
Keep up the good work! Kind regards,

Hi Victor,
I so agree to the difference in movie taste. In fact this afternoon, when my husband went for a drink and cigar at his local ‘Buena Vista Social Club’, the last thing he said before he left was “honey, when I’m out, you’ll watch one of YOUR films right?”. I said “MY films???” to which his reply was “Yeah, you know one your French, arty-farty ones.” I ended up watching a BBC documentary about Auschwitz. Not exactly the French film noir, but nevertheless very interesting, albeit horrifying and sad.
Yes, I have Doggville, but it was one of those flms my husband watched for 15 minutes and then demanded a change. I obliged.
…lastly, thanks for liking my blog. It’s nice to hear that bit of encouragement.
All the best,
Susanne
