Make-up for men - emancipation or insanity?
I woke up to a rainy Haarlem but to a sunny husband. He recently decided that he needed to acquire a suntan to his otherwise pale face. It was last weekend, whilst doing some beauty shopping in Amsterdam. I think it must have been his own idea, because I can’t see him being convinced by a 50 year old shopping assistant, unless she was 20 and drop dead gorgeous, to buy a bronzer. Yeah you heard me right… So he got Power Bronze, shade dark, from the Biotherm Homme line. This was the second time he was applying the cream and there was a noticeable difference. “This stuff is really powerful. It looks like I have been to the Bahamas for two weeks.”, he said proudly. I think he was trying to convince himself, and me too for that matter. Well if that is the way he wants to describe an orange tan, similar to the one Peter Stringfellow sports, then sure honey.
But orange tan or not, he looked great (as always) as he left home for a meeting, and I felt a sting of envy being curled up in bed with my washed out bathrobe, dishelved hair and glasses. Despite my declining physical appearance these days, I’m in this immense party mood. I haven’t been out partying since, well my wedding. I listened to this clip and it brought back great memories. But as I am sure some of you have great plans for the weekend, here is something to get you into the mood.
