Let’s roll!

Today was the last day the maternity nurse was with us. It’s been great having someone here to help out with Sebastian. I’ve felt at times like a princess having got my breakfast and lunch in bed, my bed sheets changed, laundry done… But the last days I started to long for my own privacy again. Feeding Sebastian around my own schedule and not every time on the dot of a certain hour. Being able to do some work and not be interrupted with questions and answer times.  It feels good to have my house back to myself, and to be in control of my own schedule.

Today I’ve been primarily going through project related emails and getting up to date on things. I also got the first draft of the design of the website, and I’m thrilled to bits with the result. It’s good to see all the bits and pieces falling in place. It brings you to that point when you know it’s going to work, it simply has to. When you’ve reached the point of no return and all you have to do is to go full force to achieve your targets.

It’s a long time I felt like that. Most often I get it from projects, situations, and people, I truly believe in. And that’s the thing, if the belief isn’t there, I loose my drive and motivation. It’s a catch 22, but I wish I would have stood up more firmly in my opinion on doomed projects that were not leading anywhere. Rather than asking myself what I might loose on stepping out, or challanging the convictions of others, I should have asked myself where would it take me if I didn’t. By turning around the premises of the question, you see it in a completely different light. It’s the same thing being stuck in a job you don’t like, a doomed relationship or any situation which keeps the status quo in check. One should ask oneself instead what happens  by continuing in the same tracks. The essence is that you should get energy from your situation, not loose it. It doesn’t matter if it’s hard, difficult, tiring….it can still give you positive energy because you know when you finally reach your goal the reward is there. But if the situation doesn’t, it’s time to rethink your approach to it, and if it’s what you truly want.

Well, I feel incredibly motivated, and it just feeds itself, giving me boosts of energy. There is only thing to do really…Let’s roll!
