Dutch – Swedish fashion goes FRENCH with FracasNoir

FracasNoir, a Dutch-Swedish fashion brand, based in Haarlem, The Netherlands, announces today its new niche luxury fashion collection –The Classic Collection.

Inspired by the 1940s and 50s eras of pencil skirts and nipped in waistlines, FracasNoir without doubt takes a step back to a bygone era of feminine attire, yet embraces contemporary design.

The first collection, simplybranded The Classic Collection, is not season based, but rather a capsule collection that will be re-invented through variations in fabric, colours and details. Each piece in the collection is made of natural fabrics of the highest quality such as wools, silk, cotton and linen, with utmost attention to quality.

For a brand new fashion line, the collection emanates something distinctly worldly and old school, exuding confidence and poise as if it has been around for much longer than its recent launch. This is entirely in line with FracasNoir’s vision and philosophy, aiming to bring out the classic Femme Fatale in her clientele, with emphasis on restrained glamour, sharp tailoring, monochrome colours and classic cuts – at affordable prices.

Susanne Waldau – te Brake, the founder of the brand explains: “FracasNoir is not about freshness and high-spirit. Au contraire it’s an opportunity to be sensuous, voluptuous – greedy for organza and silk. It’s a timeless collection, based on the finest materials in wool, silk, cotton and chiffon. A collection that will not only make women beautiful, but bring out their spirit and personality. FracasNoir might seem well behaved at first, but underneath layers of luxury clothing she is naughty and seductive ... ready to come out to play.”

In 2008, Ms. Waldau launched her blog FracasNoir, which soon became her personal trademark.FracasNoir has become synonymous with what Ms. Waldau calls her dark side alter ego. “It was probably more the woman I wanted to be than the actual woman I was. Joseph Kessel’s Belle de Jour or Rita Hayworth’s Gilda. The closest I ever got to them was wearing their perfumes – always rich, potent and immensely seductive but never dull. Team that with a pencil skirt, a sheer blouse and a pair of patent-leather Mary Janes and the world is at your mercy.”

“Fashion is so much more than a great design, it’s the cut, the tailoring, the stitching, the fabric. Miss one of these components and you compromise the entire creation.”

A new autumn/winter collection for 2014 is already in the making, which will be available later this year. Ms. Waldau is currently securing boutiques and independent retailers to offer the brand nationwide.
