Goals and priorities

My blogging is becoming somewhat erratic. I have to force myself to take time for it, just like the gym and even spending time with family and friends. The enemy to my hobbies spells OnlineSalsa.com . It’s a good enemy though, in fact my best friend at the moment, providing a boost of energy. But it also consumes a lot of time. Especially now as we just soft launched. Our “real” launch is planned for Wednesday this week when the press release is going out.

This weekend has been quite relaxing though, as relaxing as it can be being glued to the computer 24/7. But luckily yesterday provided an involuntary break, as I had quite bad stomach cramps. It forced me to sleep for a number of hours and I didn’t wake up until late in the afternoon. Your body, not your mind, is the best barometer to indicate when something is wrong. Your mind can be tricked, by repetitions and affirmations, it can be made into believing the impossible, and in fact accomplish it too. That’s the beauty of it, and people who practice it, goes a long way to fulfilling their dreams.

I want to believe that too. So I have penned down, in my mind, 2 goals. They are very simple and with a due date by Christmas. In my mind I have to accomplish these goals. There is no other way, no other outcome. Whenever I find myself being too tired to do something, or postponing it, that in the end will directly benefit reaching my goals,  I conjure up a mental picture of what I want. It becomes so much easier to continue, to re-prioritize and to walk that extra mile.

Another short term goal I have already reached is my weight…almost. After 3 months of work out and dieting I am close to 53 kg’s, 1 kg away from my target weight. This week, is therefore the killer week, when all the extra pounds should be off. Funny enough it’s the most weight I’ve ever lost in such a short time period. Although not a huge goal to achieve, it’s something I’m proud of having accomplished. It has also made me feel so much better about myself, which in return has given me more strength and motivation to go after my more long term goals. So another 7 months, and I shall be there. I promise, really!
