Fashion Paradise here I come!

When you haven’t been able to wear anything sensible for the past 7 months, you are reaching a new stage of desperation. As a self confessed fashionista, I’ve been everything less than one. The last time I looked glamorous was at our summer vacation in Juan les Pins where I came home one day with 7 silk dresses, all different cuts and colours. I was the cutest pregnant gal in town. But my sense for fashion went quickly out the window. Luckily I managed to “hide” the bump until the 5th month when I was organising a social games conference. It was the last time I could wear a D&C pencil skirt and my 11 cm high Mary Janes. Ever since it’s been a down hill slope, and I settled for jeans and flats matched with empire bust line and A line tops.

But it gets worse. And here is a confession that will place me among the bums of this world. The last time I washed my jeans was over 3 weeks ago! Now I haven’t worn them every day, since I’m mostly seen in my favourite IKEA (yes!!) sweats and t-shirt or my bath robe. Luckily I possess 3 of those, 2 also from IKEA and one Sheraton one which I have no clue how it ended up in my possession. Back to the jeans, they weren’t washed as I knew I wouldn’t be able to fit them again. So I hung on to them while gradually seeing the seems parting to a point where I risked a serious public embarrassment. Luckily the jeans got washed today and there is no going back!

In true style of my character, if I can’t have something I keep away from it like the plague. What’s the point of taunting myself when I can’t have something? Instead I set myself some aggressive objectives and work on it in silence until the moment has arrived when I can triumphantly revisit my target. I have many of those targets which I shall reveal in time.
There are some immediate ones, not essential but nevertheless important enough to get on my priority list. One of which is my return to the Karen Millen store. Ever since my 3rd month I have refused to set my foot in the store, out of respect for my tormented soul which would not have been able to handle such an encounter.

But today I was compelled to take a first step towards fashion paradise…the online shop. It was like being back in my normally petite, size small body, trying on those gorgeous dresses.

Here are some sure hits I shall definitely lay my hands on this season, all available from Karen Millen online
