Enjoying my gifts

Our Christmas shopping probably didn’t do much to boost the world economy, but hopefully it lend a helping hand. I’m happy the shopping frenzy is over though. I prefer more unplanned boutique hopping, which occasionally leads to a great buy. Like I’ve said before it’s not the destination but the journey.

In the end we had a pretty sombre Christmas gift exchange with a few, well selected gifts for everyone. I much rather prefer that than useless presents that will be relegated to collecting dust in a cupboard. My skin has taken it’s toll during my pregnancy so I got several special skin care products from MBR (Medical Beauty Research). I’m really intrigued what the results will be because I have tried so much out there on the market with little result. I shall keep you posted!

I also got a massage oil from Bergman Beauty Care (a cosmetic surgery clinic in the Netherlands). Should be very good against stretch marks, which fortunately I haven’t been plagued by so far. From Victoria I got a lovely Lotus Massage Oil from Rituals and some sort of massage device to go with it.

Reinout also got me the perfume Diva from Ungaro, a strong heady chypre perfume not unlike Ivoire from Balmain. I was really weary receiving a perfume, especially being from one of the main department stores. But I was pleasantly surprised with his choice. I am pleased to say he is finally developing his olfactory sense.

Reinout got from me a couple of sweaters, a shirt and wool scarf, as well as some framed pictures of us taken last summer, an anti-aging cream from Biotherm, Supper Club’s latest compilation and an 18 year old Macallan whiskey.

Victoria got so much that I can’t possibly go through it all, but most notably a Nintendo DS game, make-up and beauty products, a Barbie, SATC the movie, a gym outfit from Benetton and of course that fab leather trench coat. What more can a girl want?
