Carpe diem
I was working until late last night. I’m still not ready with what I should have accomplished so I will have to continue tonight. The laundry was going on until 2 am, and I didn’t fall asleep much before then. I always need time to wind down. Especially if I’ve been running around the house like a headless chicken. So I was reading for most of an hour on my crusader book. These type of books, anchored in history and steeped in great deeds of mankind can be quite inspiring. Especially when all odds are against one, and despite the disadvantage one turns it to victory. Such as the siege of Antioch.
I woke up at 7, to the sound of singing birds from my alarm clock. With only 5 hours of sleep I should feel tired, but somehow I felt just the opposite. It was still dark when I left the house, but as I crossed the bridge looking at the horizon, I was met by the first light. The sky was still dark but the high cirrus clouds where lit up from underneath like an superb light show. I smiled, both inside and out. Seize the moment, the essence of day. And this is it, I thought as I continued my walk to the gym. I only wished I had my camera…

Carpe diem indeed Susanne! Maybe you didn’t have your camera with you, but you’ll always have this beautiful memory
