Back at the gym!
Yesterday was my first day at the gym again. I had longed for this moment since last year when I had to stop due to a long lasting flu. I was convinced it would be a hard and tedious uphill battle but in fact it wasn’t. I did 30 minutes cross training, speeding up quite a bit towards the end, an finished off with exercises for back, chest, bum and stomach. A few hours later I started feeling a welcoming stiffness through my body. I was afraid though that I might have overdone it a bit, but waking up this morning, I only had a slight pain. Needless to say I will be back again today.
I love exercising, it’s a moment when I can go into a meditative state especially during repetitive cardio exercises such as running and cross training. My goals are threefold; building up strength, increase my cardio endurance and get back to my old weight and shape again. The last week I haven’t lost a single pound though, which is slightly disappointing, but it takes time to shift your metabolism. I’m still on the same diet, cutting out bread, rice, pasta and sugar. I eat lean meat, eggs, fish and plenty of vegetables and fruit. My initial target has been back in shape by end of March. I might have to reset my expectations somewhat, but I’m still optimistic I will be close to my target by the end of the month.
Off to the gym

I wish you all the luck Susanne!

reply to this commentSweet of you to say! Well in fact I have already lost 6 kg in 3 weeks. I have another 10 to go. I just started with my kick-ass diet, which I’ve used in any emergency situation for the past 15 years with great result – the stewardess diet, it’s probably more a women’s diet, as it’s very strict but it does work (see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060904182855AApJTSb)
