An erie picture

Most of the time I go to bed with my laptop no sooner than 12 o’clock. I try to stretch the day as much as I can, and by midnight I end up in bed with my laptop and a good book. It’s my personal time for winding down and self reflection. Reinout has pretty much the same routine but whilst he can fall asleep in a whim I can’t. As I emerged from the bathroom, working my nightly beauty routine, Reinout was well asleep. He looked absolutely adorable and I couldn’t resist taking a few snap shots. I had completely forgotten about it until last night when I downloaded the latest photos. There it was, a diffuse picture of my sleeping beloved. “It looks almost like a painting” I exclaimed. Reinout nodded. I think he was fascinated himself how different he looked. The picture had a slight resemblance to Walter Sickert’s work. Like a male version of The Camden Town Murder.  Whatever the association (Walter Sickert is well worth checking out, the Edgar Allan Poe in the world of art), it’s a beautiful picture…

Reinout te Brake

Perhaps a somewhat morbid association but there is a striking resemblance to Walter Sickert’s The Camden Town Murder (also known as What shall we do for rent) as well as Den döende dandyn by Nils von Dardel

thanks. I always felt the same too although my husband wasn’t too pleased about it. To me it’s magic. The symbol of a time gone by.
