6 days to go!
I just came home from a facial. This was the last facial before D-day and thus I got a bit of extra pampering with a relaxing face, shoulder and neck massage. I just have to paint my toenails and do a manicure to be ready for the big show. A girl wants to give birth in style! Everything else is as unstylish as it can get anyways.
I must say it hasn’t been easy to stay moderately stylish, and lately I’ve been walking around in my sweats and even worse a white bathrobe. A very pretty site for Reinout’s business acquaintances. Or perhaps it makes doing business with him all the more endearing.
But all hasn’t been that bad. Although my face broke out in spots early in the pregnancy my beautician managed to get it under control with microdermabrasions and deep clean facials. Pregnancies are known for doing weird things to your skin. It’s not only spots you run the risk of getting, but stretch marks, varicose veins and hyperpigmentations. Hyperpigmentations are especially bad as it’s difficult to get rid of them. Therefore it’s really important to always use a day cream with sun-protection, minimum 15.
So far so good, I didn’t get any stretch marks. I did find a gorgeous cream that comes in form of a bar from Lush. The one I used is called Therapy massage bar, and I can swear by it. I will definitely continue using it as a substitute to normal body cream.
Pregnancy clothes was another dilemma.
I didn’t want to use maternity clothes. Just the word is utterly devoid of glamour and finesse. I was recommended jeans from Citizen of Humanity which happens to be my favourite jeans brand. They make jeans with very soft lining, which is really comfortable to wear without looking frumpy.
Well it’s now coming to an end, only 6 days to go….more or less
39 weeks

reply to this commentThanks! I’m really happy to hear that you enjoy my writing. End of last year I made myself a promise to be honest and truthful, not only to other people but most importantly to myself. The blog has in some way become my vehicle for this. /Susanne x
